Ian Craig

Ian Craig BSc MSc, CSCS, INLPTA is an exercise physiologist, nutritional therapist, NLP practitioner and a lifestyle coach.

A competitive British middle-distance runner for 20 years, he is now a more leisurely runner and cyclist. Ian gained his BSc in Exercise Physiology from Glasgow University in his native Scotland, and his MSc in Exercise Physiology from the University of North Carolina in the United States. He later extended his interests in exercise and health into a BSc in Nutritional Therapy at Middlesex University in London.

Ian specialises in functional nutrition, a fast-evolving discipline that considers both the health and performance of an individual from an integrative health perspective. He is the editor of UK magazine; Functional Sports Nutrition (www.fsnmag.com), and has written for several South African publications, including Go Multi and Natural Medicine magazines. Additionally, he developed and facilitates the Middlesex University’s Personalised Sports Nutrition postgraduate course (www.cnelm.co.uk), the Functional Sports Nutrition Academy, and the annual conference Sports Nutrition Live (www.sportsnutritionlive.com).

Ian is a professional member of the South African Association of Nutritional Therapists (SAANT), and runs a private nutrition practice in Johannesburg's Morningside Chiropractic and Sports Injury Clinic. Additionally, he is a consultant to genetics company DNAlysis Biotechnology in Johannesburg, and personalises exercise and nutrition strategies according to the individual attributes and lifestyles of his clients.
